Police look into Frankford sexual assault

Police have released a grainy surveillance video and minimal description in hope of identifying two men who sexually assaulted a woman on a Frankford baseball field early last Thursday.

The victim reported to detectives that she was walking through a ball field along the 4900 block of Ditman St. at 1:30 a.m. when two men approached her from behind. When she turned to see them, one of the two grabbed her by the neck, causing her to lose consciousness. When she regained consciousness, she noticed that she had been sexually assaulted and that someone had stolen her money, said police, who did not disclose any injuries suffered by the woman or the amount of cash involved.

A surveillance video released publicly includes a wide-angle shot of the scene and shows two men approaching the victim on bicycles. Their faces are not visible. Police described the attackers only as two black males, one of whom wore a white T-shirt.

The public may view the video at phillypolice.com/news. Call 215–686-TIPS or send a text message to PPDTIP (773847) to report information about the case. ••
